School education programmes

The school education programme based at UEMC begun in 2007 following previous experience by the Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali on community conservation in the area. Such work is funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento through MTSN. The programme initially works with 5 primary schools in the villages near UEMC but current plans are to expand it and include secondary schools. Activities include class-based seminars and lessons on the park’s biodiversity and its importance, visits to the National Park, seminars conducted at UEMC by researchers, poster competitions, and “cinema nights” where wildlife documentaries are shown in the villages.
